Forensic Accounting and Valuation for Marital Dissolution
Sack Associates provides the forensic accounting and valuation services commonly required in matrimonial actions. We determine the income available for support and the value of the assets subject to division.
The measure of income available for support depends on the facts and circumstances in each case. Consideration is given to the past marital standard of living and current sources of income and cash flow.
In addition to other forensic techniques, we sometimes perform a lifestyle analysis to obtain an indication of income when reported income is not consistent with the lifestyle enjoyed during the marriage. Sack Associates has the necessary forensic accounting expertise to find unreported income and/or undisclosed assets.
Our analysis begins with a review of the following documents:
- Financial Statements/General Ledgers
- Bank Statements/Paid Bills
- Tax Returns
- Credit Card Statements
- Brokerage Statements
This initial review is followed by further analysis if we are not certain that we have obtained a complete picture of all the assets and income. For example, asset tracing is performed if there is evidence of missing funds. Asset tracing may also be required to differentiate between separate and community property assets.
Sack Associates presents clear and organized declarations and reports to ensure that our positions are fully understood and considered.
